Privacy Policy

This privacy policy informs you, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG), about the processing of personal data when using the website tankroute.info as well as the TankRoute apps (iOS and Android).

Website tankroute.info

The website is a static site. It sets no tracking cookies, integrates no analytics or advertising services, and transmits no user data to third parties for advertising purposes.

When the site is accessed, the hosting provider processes technically necessary server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL). The legal basis is the legitimate interest in operation and security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are stored for a maximum of 30 days and then deleted.

TankRoute Apps (iOS & Android)

Processed locally on the device

Location: used to display nearby filling stations and processed exclusively on the device — it is not transmitted to us.
Vehicle, fuel level and mileage data: remain locally on the device (App Group / local storage).
SmartFuel (Pro): trip detection and refuelling recommendations run on-device; there is no cloud processing of movement profiles.

Processed on our server

User account: Upon registration, we store your email address and a hashed password (or a pseudonymous identifier in the case of “Sign in with Apple/Google”). Purpose: provision of the account and the Pro features. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Price alerts (Pro): The target price you choose and the filling station/radius are stored in order to be able to notify you.
Push notifications: To deliver price alerts, a pseudonymous device token (Apple APNs or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging) is stored.
Purchases (Pro subscription): To validate subscriptions, purchase/transaction tokens and the product ID are processed (Apple App Store or Google Play). No payment or credit card data is transmitted to us — payment processing is handled exclusively via Apple or Google.
Filling station data: Price and location queries are forwarded via our server to official government data sources; in doing so, your IP address is processed technically but not permanently linked to your account.

Recipients / Processors

Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) — server hosting of the API and database
Apple Distribution International (Ireland) — app distribution, in-app purchases (iOS), push (APNs)
Google Ireland Ltd. — app distribution and in-app purchases (Google Play), push (Firebase Cloud Messaging)

The required data processing agreements and data protection agreements are in place with these service providers. Any transfer to third countries takes place only on the basis of appropriate safeguards (e.g. EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

Retention Period

Account data is stored until the account is deleted. After account deletion, personal data is removed unless statutory retention obligations (e.g. under tax law) require otherwise.

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise these rights, contact us by email at office@inet-solutions.at. You can delete your account at any time directly in the app.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Austria with the Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde) (dsb.gv.at).
